Maternity Photos

My Dress: Sew Trendy Accessories | Ryann's Dress: Sew Trendy Girls | Floral Crown: Amazon | Lips: YSL Glossy Stain in Vintage Rouge  | Photo: www.yourcandidmemories.com

You know how sometimes you have a vision of exactly how you want a picture to turn out but are rarely able to capture it? For maternity pictures, I was so lucky to find Cynthia, with Your Candid Memories. Her vision was perfectly aligned with mine and I could not be happier with how these turned out! I especially love that Ryann and I were able to find matching dresses and crowns. She said she felt so beautiful...and she did!

As crazy as it seems, looking at these pictures makes me miss being pregnant. At least I will always have the memories.

Pregnancy Update: 40 Weeks (HE IS HERE!)

Crew Neck Pullover: Free Press via Nordstrom Rack | Joggers: Free Press via Nordstrom Rack | Ashton's Swaddle: Aden and Anais

HOW FAR ALONG: 40 weeks (and 2 days)

HIS SIZE: 22 inches long & 8 lbs 13 oz - Ashton is a long baby! And was smaller weight wise than I was anticipating.

WEIGHT GAIN: 35 lbs was the final gain.  I am so looking forward to get back to pre-pregnancy weight so I can enjoy my wardrobe once again!

SLEEP: Ha! About what you would expect with a breastfeeding newborn. Thank goodness for an amazing hubby who is so helpful and willing to stay up with A in the middle of the night so I can get a few hours of sleep at a time.

DETAILS: Ashton arrived a 8:23 PM on Monday, February 20th. It was a long 24 hours but worth every minute. I am currently working on writing Ashton's birth story and birth video. We are so in love!

THREE THINGS I AM LOVING RIGHT NOW (ASIDE FROM NEWBORN BABY SNUGGLES):
1Blanqi Nursing Leggings - I loved their maternity leggings and am equally impressed with their nursing leggings. I wore these home from the hospital and have already ordered a second pair!

2Kickee Pants  - These are the most adorable, soft baby clothes! They are slightly pricey but wash well and I suspect they will last. In addition to all of the outfits I purchased, my sister gave me a quite a few pair of the Kickee Pants PJs that my nephew wore regularly and they are as good as new.

3: DockATot - After having pictures of the DockATot flood my Insta feed, I decided to try it out. While I am not brave enough to let him sleep in it overnight (as I am super cautious of SIDS and will only let him sleep on a flat surface), this is our favorite napping spot so far.

DockATot: Nordstrom | Sleeper: Kickee Pants

Pregnancy Update: 39 Weeks

Shirt: Topshop (similar) | Chocker Necklace: Vanessa Mooney | Gold Necklace: Gorjana (similar) | Lips: Stila Stay All Day in Patina | Nails: Essie in Ballet Slipper
HOW FAR ALONG: 39 weeks

HIS SIZE: 19-21 inches long & 7-8 pounds (even though I think he way bigger); the size of a small pumpkin

WEIGHT GAIN: 35 lbs, which is exactly how much I gained with Ryann.

SLEEP: For 39 weeks preggo, I can't complain.

SYMPTOMS: I am starting to feel some heavy pressure and sporadic contractions. This is exciting because it must mean that something is starting to happen, right? My induction is scheduled for Monday and I am still very hopeful that I go into labor before Sunday night.

MOVEMENT: Things are getting tight in there and his movements are becoming a bit uncomfortable.

THREE THINGS I AM LOVING RIGHT NOW:

1: Ugg Slippers - I received these as a Christmas gift and have been living in them. I have a weird thing about not ever being barefoot and these have been a great replacement for having to put on socks first thing in the morning. I have a feeling these will continue to get a lot of use after Ashton comes.

2: Cotz Face for Lighter Skin - A few years ago, I started to notice the toll the sun had taken on my skin. In my younger years, I was so that girl who used Baby Oil to try and get a bronze glow. Bad call! Now, older and wiser, I am the woman who will not leave the house without SPF on my face. Literally, I wear  Cotz Face for Lighter Skin EVERY SINGLE DAY. I put in on following my moisturizer and before I put on makeup. It has a silky smooth texture and acts almost like a primer. It has become one of the beauty products (if you can call sunscreen a beauty product) I can't live without! Added bonus: Cotz is 100% free of oils, fragrances, preservatives, parabens, PABA, gluten and phthalates.

3: Essie in Ballet Slipper - It may sound silly but I have been purposeful about picking out my nail color for Ashton's birth. When Ryann was born, it was summer and I went with Essie's In It To Wyn It, an electric teal (and yes, I realize it is weird that I remember the nail polish color I wore four and a half years ago). This go around, a soft pink seems like a good choice. Even more fun, this color is one of the only shades the Queen of England will wear and was specially delivered by Essie Weingarten, per the Queen's request, back in 1989. Fancy!

Pregnancy Update: 38 Weeks

Dress: ASOS (sold out), similar here, here, here and here | Lips: YSL
HOW FAR ALONG: 38 weeks

HIS SIZE: 19.5 inches long & 7 pounds (even though I think he way bigger); the size of a spaghetti squash

WEIGHT GAIN: 34 lbs

SLEEP: I get good sleep about every other night.

SYMPTOMS: Feeling pretty darn good for being 38 weeks!

MOVEMENT: Lot of little pitter patters.

THREE THINGS I AM LOVING RIGHT NOW:

1: Spending as much time as possible enjoying Ryann's only child status -  We have been very purposeful about giving her as much attention as possible and celebrating her last few weeks as our only kiddo. We have had a great time playing outside every night (thank you crazy Texas weather), making our Valentine's, reading and talking about her life as a big sister. She has been super sweet about Ashton's arrival and is constantly kissing my belly and talking to her brother. She has also been asking when he is going to get her...patience my dear, the time is almost here! And life is about to change!

2: Our Maternity Pics - A few weeks ago we made not one, but two attempts at maternity pics...crazy Texas weather. I love the way that they turned out. Cynthia at Your Candid Memories was amazing to work with and will also be doing our newborns after Ashton arrives. Below are 5 of the edited previews she shared with us.

3: Living Proof Blowout Spray - Two words: serious impact! I have board straight hair that tends to be lifeless and I usually stay away from using any products in my hair. I took a chance on this product after receiving a recommendation and am loving it. Not only does my hair have more shape, it stays curled better (and longer) when I use a hot tool on day 2 or 3. Super impressed!
